A swimmer reported missing in Peninsula Lake, near Huntsville, Monday was found by members of the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit shortly after 1 pm Tuesday.
Huntsville OPP identified the deceased swimmer as Martin Scholz, 56, of Toronto.
On Monday, a woman in a boat advised that her husband and son had gone in for a swim when the wind picked up and the boat floated away from the two. She was unable to get the boat started, and immediately called 911 for assistance.
The son was located by boaters in the area and taken to shore. He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released. All emergency personnel continued searching for the father until near dusk.
Huntsville OPP members, along with Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, resumed the search Tuesday.
