Responses have been pouring in for the 18th annual Readers’ Choice Awards survey, with members of the public being asked to vote for their favourite local businesses. But time is running out.
There are only a few days left to have your say, with the online survey closing at midnight on Tuesday. So anyone who has been putting off filling out the multiple-choice questionnaire should head over to tinyurl.com/y4tt8hwe as soon as possible.
There are 130 categories to vote on this year, including several new additions from last year’s survey.
They range anywhere from favourite breakfast spot and grocery store to favourite financial planner and RV dealer— and everything in between.
The Daily Press’ publisher, Lisa Wilson, said the Readers’ Choice Awards are always a success and both the businesses that are up for nominations and the readers who vote are always excited to take part.
Some of the past favourites, for example, will even get their certificates framed or turned into a poster that can be proudly displayed at their organization, showcasing to the public that the community supports them.
“I’m really pleased with the response so far but there are still a few days left and I’d love to see a record number of responses this year. Every year our numbers are exceeded and that tells me people still like participating and having their say,” said Wilson. “There are so many amazing businesses in Timmins and the Readers’ Choice Awards help shine a light on them.”
After voting closes, The Daily Press will reach out to the favourite businesses that have been selected. A special publication will also be released in the October, announcing these businesses to the Timmins community.
“People like it, the readers like having their say, and hopefully we are giving some local businesses the recognition they deserve,” Wilson concluded
