Last year, the gala raised more than $31 million US, showcasing its importance as a fundraising event. Individual tickets cost $100,000 US, while tables for ten start at $350,000 US.

With approximately 400 guests expected this year, many are questioning whether celebrity attendance will be affected by the boycott calls. Activist Zohran Mamdani emphasized affordability in his critique, saying, “My focus is also on affordability and making the most expensive city in the United States affordable.”

The gala will also inaugurate the new Condé M. Nast Galleries, which span approximately 1,115 square metres. This development adds to the significance of the event amid ongoing controversies surrounding its funding sources.
