Northumberland Ferries may cancel service between P.E.I. and Nova Scotia due to these high winds. The Confederation Bridge has issued a wind advisory with traffic restrictions in place.

Meanwhile, a late-season snowstorm is expected to bring feet of snow to the Rocky Mountains. Colorado and Wyoming are particularly at risk. Winter Storm Watches and Warnings have been posted for these areas.

Forecasters expect heavy snow will create difficult driving conditions throughout the Rockies. Snowfall totals could reach 8 to 12 inches across northern and central mountains in Colorado.

The Sierra Nevada is also under a winter storm warning. Snowfall amounts could reach up to 4 feet with wind gusts of 70 MPH.

High winds are anticipated to accompany the heavy snowfall in the Sierra Nevada region as well. Snow levels above 6,000 feet may see an additional 1 to 2 feet of snow.
