CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA – Apple has unveiled the iPhone 17e, an impressive and budget-friendly addition to the iPhone 17 series. Central to the iPhone 17e is the cutting-edge A19 chip, which provides outstanding performance for all user activities. Additionally, the device incorporates the C1X, Apple’s newest cellular modem, boasting speeds up to twice as fast as the C1 found in the iPhone 16e. The 48MP Fusion camera excels at capturing breathtaking images, including advanced portrait modes, and records 4K Dolby Vision video. It also offers an optical-quality 2x Telephoto lens, effectively combining two cameras into one. The 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display is equipped with Ceramic Shield 2, providing three times the scratch resistance of its predecessor and minimizing glare.1 With MagSafe technology, users benefit from rapid wireless charging and a wide array of accessories such as chargers and cases. Furthermore, when iPhone 17e users find themselves beyond cellular and Wi-Fi reach, Apple’s innovative satellite capabilities—featuring Emergency SOS, Roadside Assistance, Messages, and Find My via satellite—ensure they remain connected during critical moments.2

Its enhanced 6-core CPU is up to twice as fast as the iPhone 11, efficiently managing everything from basic activities like browsing photos to sophisticated Apple Intelligence functions such as Clean Up. The 4-core GPU, equipped with Neural Accelerators, facilitates console-quality gaming on the move, accommodating demanding AAA games and supporting hardware-accelerated ray tracing for improved lighting and reflections. The revamped 16-core Neural Engine is fine-tuned for extensive generative models and, when paired with the Neural Accelerators integrated into each GPU, allows Apple Intelligence and various AI models to operate more swiftly than in the previous generation.
The iPhone 17e introduces the C1X, Apple’s latest cellular modem. This new modem is capable of delivering speeds that are twice as fast as the C1 found in the iPhone 16e, and it matches the performance of the iPhone Air. Additionally, C1X is designed to consume 30 percent less power compared to the modem in the iPhone 16 Pro, enhancing the impressive all-day battery performance.

The iPhone 17e offers remarkable all-day battery performance, thanks to the efficiencies of Apple silicon, including the C1X cellular modem, along with the sophisticated power management features of iOS 26. With rapid wired charging via USB-C, the iPhone 17e can reach up to 50 percent charge in approximately 30 minutes. Additionally, it supports MagSafe and Qi2 for quick wireless charging at 15W, compared to the 7.5W Qi wireless charging available on the iPhone 16e. This advanced processing also supports next-gen portraits, enabling the iPhone 17e to identify people, dogs, and cats, automatically storing depth data, which allows users to transform photos into stunning portraits with background blur post-capture and adjust the focus point within the Photos app. The latest HDR technology accurately represents skin tones and captures bright highlights, rich midtones, and deep shadows throughout the image, all while maintaining intricate details.
The iPhone 17e captures breathtaking videos, offering the capability to shoot in 4K with Dolby Vision at up to 60 fps. It also features Spatial Audio recording for an immersive experience when using AirPods or Apple Vision Pro, along with enhanced options for sound editing through Audio Mix. Thanks to advanced machine learning algorithms, wind noise reduction effectively minimizes unwanted sounds, resulting in superior audio quality.
