As anticipation builds, BTS is preparing for a monumental concert at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on March 21, 2026. This performance marks the group’s first as a complete ensemble since October 2022, following their mandatory military service.

The concert is expected to attract up to 260,000 attendees, prompting authorities to raise the terror alert in Seoul to the second-lowest level. Lee Jae Myung, the governor of Gyeonggi Province, emphasized that “the issue is safety,” highlighting the extensive security measures in place.

In preparation for the event, 6,500 police officers and 3,400 personnel from the Seoul city government will be deployed to ensure the safety of fans and performers alike.

Fans around the globe will not miss out, as the concert will be streamed live on Netflix to over 190 countries, allowing millions to join in the excitement from afar.

Coinciding with the concert, BTS released their new album titled ‘Arirang’ on March 20, 2026. The album features 14 tracks, showcasing the band’s growth and musical evolution. Jung Kook shared his thoughts, stating, “During my time in the military, I couldn’t work on music even when I wanted to,” reflecting on the challenges faced during their hiatus.

J-Hope added, “In order to make music as a team in a healthy way, as each of us are making their own music, we each go through personal growth and growing pains that come with it.” This sentiment resonates with the emotional depth of ‘Arirang,’ which captures themes of yearning and the ebb and flow of life.

After living together in Los Angeles for two months to create the album, the members are eager to reconnect with their fans through this concert. The world tour will span 34 cities and 82 shows across five continents, marking a significant return to the global stage.

Additionally, a documentary titled ‘BTS: The Return’ is set to be released on Netflix on March 27, 2026, providing fans with an intimate look at the band’s journey.

As the date approaches, excitement and anticipation continue to build, with fans eagerly awaiting what promises to be a historic event in K-pop history.
