Cher is seeking a conservatorship over her son, Elijah Blue Allman. This legal move comes after recent arrests in New Hampshire.
As of early Tuesday, Allman remains in custody at a locked psychiatric hospital. He has faced multiple charges including felony burglary and criminal mischief.
Cher filed court documents on April 17 requesting temporary conservatorship of Allman’s estate. Reports indicate he receives $120,000 monthly from a trust established by his late father, Gregg Allman.
According to Cher’s lawyer, “Elijah has no concept of money and is unable to manage his financial resources and is unable to withstand fraud or undue influence.” This raises serious concerns about his ability to handle funds responsibly.
Within hours of the initial arrest, it was noted that Allman had been arrested twice in just three days. His sister, Devon Allman, supports Cher’s request for conservatorship. She stated he is currently a danger to himself.
Cher had previously filed for conservatorship in December 2023 due to ongoing worries about her son’s mental health and substance abuse issues. The situation has escalated significantly since then.
In an unexpected twist, Cher recently discovered that Allman has a daughter named Ever with Kayti Edwards—a fact she was unaware of for over a decade. Ever is now 15 years old.
Cher invited Ever and Edwards to stay at her Malibu home in September 2024. Reports suggest that Cher’s relationship with Ever is developing positively.
Still, the family faces significant challenges ahead. Details remain unconfirmed regarding the upcoming court proceedings or any potential resolutions.
