FIFA announced new tickets for all World Cup matches will be available starting at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
As of midday, the organization has sold over five million tickets for the event. This marks a significant increase in interest compared to previous years.
Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. FIFA warns fans to expect long digital lineups—many will flood the website simultaneously.
The last-minute sales phase will run through the end of the tournament, allowing fans to purchase tickets until July 19. This extension offers more opportunities for those who missed earlier sales.
Meanwhile, the City of Toronto will provide the vast majority of tickets to its 2026 FIFA World Cup fan festival at no cost. Of the 20,000 tickets available daily, 15,600 are no-cost general admission and 500 are dedicated to community groups.
However, FIFA has introduced new premium-priced tiers for World Cup tickets. For instance, US-Paraguay tickets were priced between $1,120 and $2,735 during December’s sale.
Experts note that this pricing strategy reflects a trend towards higher costs in major sporting events. Still, many fans remain eager to attend.
