Scott Jones Pro Player Hockey Development has partnered with the Sarnia Sting to enhance youth hockey development in the Sarnia-Lambton region. This collaboration aims to provide consistent, high-quality training for young players.
Previously, youth hockey training in the area lacked a structured approach. Many aspiring players did not have access to professional coaching or resources.
Now, Scott Jones, who serves as the Player Development Coach for the Sarnia Sting, brings over 20 years of coaching experience to this initiative. He stated, “This partnership represents a natural extension of my role with the Sarnia Sting.”
The partnership will focus on improving skill development and fostering a love for the game among young athletes.
In a related move, Carter Chadwick has signed with the Sarnia Sting after an impressive season with the Chatham Maroons. Last season, he recorded 32 goals and 19 assists, totaling 51 points in just 47 games.
Carter is a 6-foot-1, 200-pound forward from Cobourg. He was named MVP of the Sutherland Cup series during his rookie season with Chatham.
Dylan Seca, General Manager of the Sting, emphasized the importance of identifying “glue guys” for team success. He remarked, “We’ve been tracking Carter closely all year. Those types of players are critical to team success. Carter has shown he can be one of those guys.”
This partnership aims not only to enhance individual skills but also to build a stronger team culture within the Sarnia Sting roster.
The impact of this initiative could reshape youth hockey development in Ontario. It may set a new standard for training programs across similar regions.
