Netflix’s The One Piece anime will adapt the original manga from the beginning of the East Blue saga. The series is set to release in February 2027.
The first season will consist of seven episodes, covering approximately the first 50 chapters of Eiichiro Oda’s iconic work. The total runtime for this season will be around 300 minutes, meaning each episode will exceed 40 minutes.
Masashi Koizuka directs the series, produced by WIT Studio in collaboration with Shueisha, Toei Animation, and Fuji Television Network. This adaptation aims to provide a modern twist on the beloved story.
The anime will depict Luffy’s childhood in Windmill Village and lead up to his encounter with Sanji, the sous chef of the floating restaurant Baratie. Observers note that this remake focuses on the East Blue Arc, which has been pivotal in establishing the Straw Hats’ journey.
The original One Piece anime has surpassed 100 volumes and more than 600 million copies in circulation worldwide. Fans are eager for this fresh take after the live-action series debuted in 2023.
As excitement builds for the release, some details remain unclear. No specific episode titles or plot points beyond Luffy’s early adventures have been shared yet.
