toronto marathon 2026 route — CA news

The Vancouver BMO Marathon is set to significantly impact traffic and public transit with extensive road closures and about 25,000 participants expected.

The start line of the marathon is located at Queen Elizabeth Park. The finish line is on West Pender Street between Bute Street and Thurlow Street.

Road closures will begin as early as 5 p.m. on Saturday. They are expected to last until 3 p.m. on Sunday, particularly near the finish area close to Coal Harbour.

Only local traffic will be allowed on Cambie Street to Main Street, from King Edward Avenue to West 41st Avenue on Sunday.

The marathon will affect traffic in areas around Riley Park, Coal Harbour, and Downtown. Public transit will also experience detours due to these road closures.

Officials have not confirmed if additional measures will be taken to manage the expected congestion. Observers suggest that participants and spectators should plan ahead for potential delays.
