Apple unveils the iPhone 17e
The iPhone 17e offers exceptional value with improved performance, a sophisticated camera setup, enhanced durability, the convenience of MagSafe, and double the initial storage capacity at 256GB.
CUpertino, California – Apple has unveiled the iPhone 17e, a robust and budget-friendly member of the iPhone 17 series. Central to the iPhone 17e is the cutting-edge A19 chip, which provides outstanding performance for all user activities. Additionally, the device incorporates the C1X modem, Apple’s latest cellular technology, boasting speeds up to twice as fast as the C1 found in the iPhone 16e. The 48MP Fusion camera produces breathtaking images, including advanced portrait modes, and captures 4K Dolby Vision video. It also supports an optical-quality 2x Telephoto lens, effectively giving users two cameras in one. The 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display is equipped with Ceramic Shield 2, offering three times the scratch resistance of its predecessor and minimizing glare. With MagSafe, users benefit from rapid wireless charging and a wide range of accessories, such as chargers and cases. Furthermore, when iPhone 17e users find themselves beyond cellular and Wi-Fi reach, Apple’s innovative satellite capabilities—including Emergency SOS, Roadside Assistance, Messages, and Find My via satellite—ensure they remain connected when it is most crucial.

The iPhone 17e will be offered in three stylish colors featuring a premium matte finish — black, white, and a lovely new soft pink. Pre-orders will commence on Wednesday, March 4, with the device becoming available on Wednesday, March 11. The 4-core GPU, equipped with Neural Accelerators, facilitates console-quality gaming on the move, accommodating demanding AAA games and hardware-accelerated ray tracing for improved lighting and reflections. The improved 16-core Neural Engine is fine-tuned for extensive generative models and, along with the Neural Accelerators integrated into each GPU, allows Apple Intelligence and other AI frameworks to operate more swiftly than in the prior generation.
The iPhone 17e is equipped with the C1X, Apple’s newest cellular modem. This modem offers speeds that are up to twice as fast as the C1 found in the iPhone 16e and matches the performance of the iPhone Air. Additionally, C1X consumes 30% less power compared to the modem in the iPhone 16 Pro, enhancing the remarkable all-day battery performance.

The iPhone 17e offers remarkable all-day battery performance, thanks to the efficiency of Apple silicon, which includes the C1X cellular modem, along with the sophisticated power management features of iOS 26. With rapid wired charging via USB-C, the iPhone 17e can reach up to 50 percent charge in approximately 30 minutes. Additionally, it supports MagSafe and Qi2 for quick wireless charging at 15W, in contrast to the 7.5W Qi wireless charging available on the iPhone 16e. It also features Spatial Audio for an immersive listening experience with AirPods or Apple Vision Pro, along with enhanced options for editing video sound through Audio Mix.
