Early Sunday morning, a tragic domestic-related shooting unfolded in Shreveport, Louisiana. Eight children were killed at two different homes. The victims ranged in age from one to about 14 years old.

A total of 10 people were shot in the incident. Two other individuals were struck by gunfire, but their conditions remain unknown.

Tom Arceneaux, a local official, described the situation as possibly “the worst tragic situation we’ve ever had.” Wayne Smith expressed his shock, stating, “I just don’t know what to say. My heart is just taken aback.”

Mike Johnson added, “We’re holding the victims, their families and loved ones close in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.”

As of midday, Chris Bordelon noted that this is an extensive scene unlike anything most have ever seen.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding the full circumstances of the shooting. This year alone, there have been at least 119 mass shootings across the United States, resulting in 117 deaths—including 79 children.
