Samsung will release the stable version of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S25 series on April 30, 2026, or May 1, 2026. This follows an extensive beta testing phase that included ten builds.
The beta program for One UI 8.5 opened in December 2025. Users have actively participated in testing various features and improvements since then.
One UI 8.5 includes a design refresh and practical upgrades across the system. New features enhance user experience, including improved lock screen customization and smarter Bixby commands.
Key updates in One UI 8.5:
- The update enhances existing AI capabilities but does not incorporate newer features from the Galaxy S26.
- Camera changes are limited to a few new portrait filters.
- The Weather app now adds precipitation graphs and a pollen index.
The global rollout of One UI 8.5 is expected to begin on May 4, 2026, starting with South Korea. Samsung aims to send this update to older smartphones as well, allowing access to some Galaxy S26 features.
Tarun Vats, a credible source in the smartphone community, confirmed these details about the update and its features.
