Wisconsin’s softball team secured its first series win over Michigan since the 2014 season.
This victory came early Tuesday as Wisconsin scored a total of 14 runs in the game.
Kaylie Whidden hit a three-run home run to clinch the win. Wisconsin scored six runs in the fifth inning alone—the second-most in program history.
Prior to this, Wisconsin had struggled against Michigan for nearly a decade. The last series win was in 2014.
Meanwhile, Brady Lee, a safety from La Crosse, Wisconsin, has committed to the UND Fighting Hawks.
Lee plays at St. Aquinas High School and has excelled as both a receiver and running back.
Last season, he caught 18 passes for a total of 392 yards and five touchdowns.
St. Aquinas finished with an impressive record of 11-1 last season, advancing to the third round of the WIAA Division 4 playoffs.
Lee is now the third commit of the 2027 class for UND and expressed his excitement about the opportunity. “I’m super excited. I kind of realized how much of a blessing it is to be in my situation,” he said.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding further developments related to this commitment or additional player signings.
